Mine Safety Representatives and Health and Safety Committees

Empowers elected safety representatives and committee members to carry out their statutory functions effectively on South African mines. The programme covers workplace inspections, hazard reporting, participation in investigations and constructive engagement with management to strengthen the tripartite safety culture that underpins the Mine Health and Safety framework.

  • Conduct effective workplace inspections and record findings.
  • Report hazards and unsafe conditions through the correct channels.
  • Participate meaningfully in incident investigations and enquiries.
