Media Interview and Spokesperson Skills

When journalists call, an unprepared spokesperson can damage a reputation in minutes, while a skilled one can build trust for an African brand. This course prepares designated spokespeople to handle print, radio, television and online interviews with confidence. Delegates learn to prepare key messages, stay on message under pressure and respond to difficult questions without losing composure.

What you will be able to do

  • Prepare clear key messages ahead of any media interview.
  • Bridge from difficult questions back to your key messages.
  • Respond calmly and credibly under pressure.
  • Adapt delivery for print, radio, television and online formats.
  • Avoid common traps that create damaging headlines.
  • Practise interviews and refine responses through feedback.
