Leading Community and Stakeholder Relations for Site Managers

Mines, farms, factories and infrastructure projects across Africa succeed or stall on the strength of their relationships with surrounding communities and local stakeholders. This course prepares site and operations leaders to engage communities, traditional authorities and local government constructively. Participants learn to build trust, manage expectations and prevent the disputes that can shut down operations.

What you will be able to do

  • Map the communities, authorities and stakeholders around your operation.
  • Build genuine, respectful relationships with community leaders.
  • Engage traditional authorities and local government appropriately.
  • Manage expectations around jobs, procurement and social investment.
  • Anticipate and defuse tensions before they escalate into disputes.
  • Lead your team to be good neighbours and responsible operators.
