Ion Chromatography for Water and Process Analysis

Ion chromatography is the standard method for measuring anions and cations in boiler feedwater, effluent, mine water and process streams across South African utilities and industry. This course covers eluent chemistry, suppressor technology, column care and result interpretation, equipping analysts to produce reliable data for compliance reporting and process control in water and industrial laboratories.

What you will be able to do

Describe the chemistry of ion separation, suppression and conductivity detection.
Select appropriate columns and eluents for anion and cation analysis.
Prepare standards and calibration curves that meet method precision requirements.
Operate ion chromatography systems for routine water and effluent testing.
Identify and resolve common problems including peak shift, ghosting and suppressor failure.
