Industrial Valve Maintenance and Actuator Servicing

Valves that stick, pass or fail to seat cause product loss, safety incidents and failed shutdowns on African process plants. This programme covers the maintenance of gate, globe, ball, butterfly and control valves, together with the pneumatic and electric actuators that drive them. Delegates practise stripping, reseating and testing valves so they hold and move reliably after a turnaround.

What you will be able to do

  • Distinguish the main valve types and their maintenance requirements.
  • Strip, inspect and reseat valves to restore tight shut off.
  • Service pneumatic and electric actuators and positioners.
  • Set and prove control valve stroke and response.
  • Pressure test and leak test valves before return to service.
  • Plan valve maintenance around shutdowns and criticality.
