Industrial Energy Auditing and Efficiency Improvement

Rising electricity tariffs and unreliable supply are pushing South African manufacturers and facilities to cut energy waste rather than simply add capacity. This course teaches delegates how to conduct structured energy audits, benchmark consumption against industry norms, identify efficiency opportunities in motors, compressed air and thermal systems, and build a costed improvement plan that a plant manager can defend to senior leadership.

What you will be able to do

  • Conduct a structured walkthrough energy audit of a typical industrial or commercial facility.
  • Benchmark energy consumption per unit of output against relevant sector standards.
  • Identify efficiency opportunities in motors, pumps, compressed air and thermal systems.
  • Calculate the payback period and return on investment for energy efficiency measures.
  • Prioritise interventions using a cost benefit framework suited to constrained capital budgets.
  • Present a costed energy efficiency plan that secures buy in from senior management.
