Industrial Air Quality and Emissions Control

Industrial operators in South Africa face tightening air quality standards and closer scrutiny of atmospheric emission licences from regulators and neighbouring communities. This course covers air quality monitoring techniques, emissions control technologies and licence compliance requirements, enabling delegates to interpret monitoring data, select appropriate abatement measures and manage the reporting obligations attached to atmospheric emission licences.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain the regulatory framework governing atmospheric emission licences in South Africa.
  • Interpret air quality monitoring data to assess compliance with emission standards.
  • Evaluate emissions control and abatement technologies suited to different industrial processes.
  • Prepare emissions inventories and reports required under atmospheric emission licences.
  • Manage stakeholder and community concerns arising from industrial air quality complaints.
  • Develop an action plan to reduce emissions and maintain licence compliance.
