Impact Storytelling for Social Enterprises and Foundations

Social enterprises, foundations and community organisations across Africa do meaningful work but often struggle to communicate their impact in a way that moves funders, partners and communities. This course teaches delegates to gather real stories responsibly, combine them with evidence, and craft communication that shows change without losing dignity or accuracy. Delegates learn to balance emotion and data so that impact is felt and believed.

What you will be able to do

  • Gather beneficiary stories ethically and with informed consent.
  • Combine human stories with data to show real change.
  • Structure impact narratives around a clear before and after.
  • Write with dignity and avoid harmful or patronising portrayals.
  • Tailor impact messages for funders, partners and communities.
  • Package stories for reports, social media and donor updates.
