Grant and Donor Report Writing for Development Programmes

NGOs, development agencies and community organisations across Southern Africa depend on donor funding that requires accurate, honest and well structured reporting. This course teaches delegates to write narrative and financial donor reports that track indicators, explain variance against the funding proposal, and maintain the trust needed for continued or renewed funding.

What you will be able to do

  • Interpret donor reporting templates and identify the information each section requires.
  • Report progress honestly against agreed indicators, targets and the original funding proposal.
  • Explain variance between planned and actual results without minimising or overstating outcomes.
  • Write narrative sections that connect programme activities to beneficiary outcomes and impact.
  • Align financial reporting narrative with supporting budgets and expenditure records.
  • Structure a donor report that builds confidence and supports future funding applications.
