Governance of Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology

Prepares boards, risk and compliance teams to govern the adoption of artificial intelligence, automation and other emerging technologies responsibly. Participants examine how to set policy, manage model and data risk, and meet accountability expectations as African organisations scale these tools. The course grounds fast moving global debates in the practical realities of a South African regulatory and operating context.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain the governance and accountability questions raised by artificial intelligence.
  • Assess the risks of bias, error, data misuse and opacity in automated systems.
  • Develop responsible technology policies and acceptable use standards.
  • Establish oversight roles and approval gates for high impact use cases.
