Fraud Interviewing and Interrogation Techniques for Investigators

Build the questioning skills that turn a fraud suspicion into a defensible admission. Delegates practise cognitive and confrontational interview methods, reading verbal and behavioural cues, and structuring conversations that stand up in disciplinary and criminal proceedings across African jurisdictions. The programme is heavily role play based, using scenarios drawn from procurement, payroll and cash handling fraud common in the region.

What you will be able to do

  • Plan and sequence an investigative interview from rapport to admission.
  • Apply cognitive interview methods to obtain full and accurate accounts.
  • Distinguish evidence based questioning from leading or oppressive tactics.
  • Recognise deception indicators while avoiding common misreading errors.
  • Document interviews so that statements survive legal and CCMA scrutiny.
  • Manage suspect rights and admissibility during workplace questioning.
