Forensic Accounting and Financial Statement Fraud Examination

Equip finance and audit professionals to detect, quantify and document financial statement manipulation using forensic accounting techniques. The programme covers revenue overstatement, expense concealment, related party schemes and the analytical tests that expose cooked books. Delegates examine worked case studies from African organisations and practise tracing funds, quantifying losses and preparing findings that stand up in disciplinary and legal proceedings.

What you will be able to do

  • Distinguish forensic accounting from statutory audit and its investigative purpose.
  • Identify red flags of revenue, expense and asset manipulation in the accounts.
  • Apply analytical and ratio tests to expose earnings management schemes.
  • Trace funds and reconstruct transactions through ledgers and bank records.
  • Quantify financial losses and document evidence to a defensible standard.
  • Prepare forensic findings and expert reports for management and legal teams.
