Food and Agricultural Products Laboratory Testing

A practical five day programme for laboratories testing food, beverages and agricultural commodities in South Africa and neighbouring markets. Covers proximate and nutritional analysis, pesticide and mycotoxin residues, additives and contaminants, and the sampling and reporting practices that support food safety and export compliance.

What you will be able to do

  • Perform proximate and nutritional analysis on food and feed samples.
  • Select suitable methods for pesticide residues, mycotoxins and heavy metals.
  • Prepare and clean up complex food matrices before instrumental analysis.
  • Apply limits of detection and quantification to trace contaminant results.
