Flow Cytometry Operation and Data Interpretation

A practical course on operating flow cytometers and interpreting the multiparameter data they generate for clinical, research and quality laboratories. Delegates learn sample staining, instrument setup, compensation and gating strategies that produce defensible results. The programme also covers daily quality control and common causes of poor data.

What you will be able to do

  • Describe the optics, fluidics and detection principles of flow cytometry.
  • Prepare and stain cell samples for multiparameter analysis.
  • Perform instrument setup, calibration and compensation.
  • Build gating strategies that isolate populations of interest.
  • Apply daily quality control to confirm instrument performance.
  • Interpret plots and troubleshoot spectral overlap and clogging issues.
