Fire Protection System and Sprinkler Maintenance

Fixed fire protection systems only save lives and assets if they work on the day they are needed, yet they are often neglected until an inspection or incident exposes gaps. This programme trains maintenance teams to inspect, test and maintain sprinkler systems, fire pumps, hydrants and detection equipment. Delegates learn practical routines that keep systems ready and support insurance and facility requirements common across African commercial and industrial sites.

What you will be able to do

  • Describe the main components of sprinkler, hydrant and detection systems and how they operate.
  • Carry out routine inspection and testing of fire pumps, valves and alarm devices.
  • Recognise signs of blockage, corrosion and impairment in fire water systems.
  • Maintain detection and alarm equipment to reduce false alarms and missed events.
  • Manage system impairments and isolations safely during maintenance work.
  • Keep inspection and test records that demonstrate system readiness.
