FIDIC Contract Administration for Project Teams

FIDIC forms of contract govern a large share of infrastructure work funded by development banks across Africa, yet many project teams administer them by instinct rather than by the contract. This course walks through the roles, notices, payment mechanisms and claims procedures of the common FIDIC forms. The focus is practical day to day administration that protects the project and reduces disputes.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain the roles and obligations of the parties under the common FIDIC forms.
  • Administer notices, instructions and time bars correctly and on time.
  • Manage interim payments, variations and the measurement of work.
  • Handle claims for time and money following the contract procedure.
  • Recognise the early warning signs of disputes and act to contain them.
  • Maintain contract records that stand up if a claim is escalated.
