Environmental Due Diligence for Mergers and Acquisitions

Environmental liabilities such as contaminated land, non compliance and rehabilitation obligations can destroy value in a transaction if missed. This programme equips delegates to conduct environmental due diligence during mergers, acquisitions and asset purchases. The focus is on identifying, quantifying and managing environmental risk before a deal closes.

What you will be able to do

  • Scope environmental due diligence appropriate to a transaction and sector.
  • Identify contaminated land, compliance and rehabilitation liabilities in a target.
  • Review permits, authorisations and enforcement history for red flags.
  • Estimate the financial exposure of identified environmental liabilities.
  • Recommend warranties, indemnities and conditions to allocate environmental risk.
  • Plan post acquisition integration of environmental obligations and controls.
