Energy Efficiency and Utility Cost Reduction for Maintenance Teams
With rising tariffs and unreliable supply across Africa, maintenance teams are increasingly asked to cut energy and utility costs without new capital. This programme shows how everyday maintenance decisions on motors, compressed air, steam, cooling and lighting affect consumption. Participants learn to find and quantify energy waste and to build low cost improvements into normal maintenance routines.
What you will be able to do
Identify where energy and utilities are wasted across common plant systems.
Measure and baseline energy use for motors, air, steam and cooling.
Quantify the savings from maintenance actions such as leak repair and tuning.
Prioritise energy improvements by payback and ease of implementation.
Embed energy efficient practices into routine maintenance tasks.
Report energy savings to build management support for further work.
