Electric Motor Rewinding, Testing and Repair

Replacing failed electric motors is expensive and often delayed by long import lead times across Africa. This workshop equips motor repair staff to diagnose winding and insulation failures, carry out sound rewinding and reassembly, and prove a repaired motor before it returns to service. Delegates practise the testing routines that separate a reliable rewind from one that fails again within weeks.

What you will be able to do

  • Identify the common electrical and mechanical causes of motor failure.
  • Carry out insulation resistance, winding resistance and surge tests on motors.
  • Strip, clean and rewind low voltage induction motors to correct specifications.
  • Reassemble motors with correct bearing fitting and air gap alignment.
  • Prove repaired motors through no load and loaded test routines.
  • Keep repair records that support warranty and reliability tracking.
