Diamond Drilling and Surface Exploration Site Safety

Exploration and diamond drilling take crews into remote African terrain with rotating equipment, high pressure fluids and limited emergency support. This programme prepares drill crews and exploration managers to run safe, well organised sites from mobilisation to rehabilitation. Content covers rig hazards, camp safety and the practical realities of working far from formal medical services.

What you will be able to do

  • Identify hazards across diamond drilling and exploration operations.
  • Apply safe work practices around rotating rigs and high pressure fluids.
  • Manage remote site logistics, camp safety and emergency readiness.
  • Control manual handling, lifting and rod handling on drill sites.
  • Plan environmental protection and site rehabilitation for exploration areas.
  • Establish site rules and induction for contractor drilling crews.
