Demand Side Management and Energy Load Optimisation

With constrained supply and rising tariffs, African energy users can save significantly by managing when and how they draw power, not just how much. This programme covers demand side management techniques such as load shifting, peak clipping and time of use response. Delegates learn to analyse load and tariff data and design interventions that cut cost and ease pressure on the grid.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain demand side management and its value to users and the grid.
  • Analyse load profiles and tariff structures to find opportunities.
  • Apply load shifting, peak clipping and demand response techniques.
  • Coordinate demand management with storage and on site generation.
  • Quantify the cost savings and payback of demand interventions.
  • Design a demand management plan for a facility or portfolio.
