Crusher and Grinding Mill Maintenance for Mineral Processing

Crushers and grinding mills are the heartbeat of African mineral processing plants, and unplanned stoppages carry heavy tonnage losses. This programme gives maintenance teams the practical knowledge to maintain jaw, cone and gyratory crushers along with ball, rod and SAG mills. Participants learn liner and wear part management, relining planning, lubrication and the inspection routines that extend life between shutdowns.

What you will be able to do

  • Describe the working principles of common crushers and grinding mills in processing plants.
  • Plan liner and wear part replacement to match production and shutdown windows.
  • Carry out safe relining practices and manage the risks of confined and elevated work.
  • Maintain mill drive, trunnion bearing and lubrication systems to prevent premature failure.
  • Inspect crusher mantles, concaves and mainframes for wear and cracking.
  • Use condition data to forecast wear life and schedule interventions.
