Communicating Technical Information to Non Technical Audiences

Specialists in finance, technology, health, law and engineering across Africa must regularly explain complex matters to boards, customers and the public who do not share their background. When the explanation fails, good work is rejected or misused. This course builds the writing and speaking techniques that make specialist information genuinely understandable to any audience.

What you will be able to do

  • Assess what a non technical audience already knows and needs.
  • Replace jargon with plain language without losing accuracy.
  • Use analogies, examples and structure to make ideas concrete.
  • Design simple visuals that clarify rather than complicate.
  • Anticipate and answer the questions non specialists actually ask.
  • Test whether an explanation has truly landed with the audience.
