Commodity Trade Finance and Structured Lending for Producers

Africa's producers and traders in agriculture, metals and energy rely on structured finance to fund stock, shipments and pre export contracts. This course covers borrowing base facilities, warehouse receipt finance, pre export finance and the collateral structures that make lenders comfortable. Participants learn how deals are assembled, priced and monitored, and where structured commodity deals commonly unravel.

  • Assess borrowing base and warehouse receipt structures from both sides of a deal.
  • Evaluate collateral, offtake contracts and self liquidating cash flows.
