Centrifugal Pump Overhaul and Mechanical Seal Management

Leaking seals and repeat pump failures drain water, chemicals and money across mines, utilities and factories. This hands on programme takes fitters through a disciplined pump strip, inspection and rebuild, with particular focus on selecting, fitting and running in mechanical seals correctly. Delegates learn to find the root of repeat failures rather than simply replacing parts.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain how centrifugal pumps and their seals fail in service.
  • Dismantle and inspect pump internals against wear and clearance limits.
  • Select and fit mechanical seals suited to the duty and fluid.
  • Set impeller clearances and check shaft runout during rebuild.
  • Commission a rebuilt pump and confirm seal performance under running conditions.
  • Diagnose recurring seal and bearing failures to their underlying cause.
