Cell Culture and Aseptic Technique for Laboratory Scientists

A foundational programme in mammalian and microbial cell culture for research, pharmaceutical and biotechnology laboratories. The course builds confident aseptic technique, media and reagent preparation, and routine maintenance of cell lines. Delegates learn to recognise and manage contamination that can ruin cultures and results.

What you will be able to do

  • Apply aseptic technique in a biosafety cabinet for routine culture work.
  • Prepare culture media, supplements and reagents correctly.
  • Passage, count and cryopreserve cell lines using standard methods.
  • Detect and manage bacterial, fungal and mycoplasma contamination.
  • Maintain incubators, cabinets and consumables for reliable culture.
  • Keep culture records that support reproducible experiments.
