Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage Fundamentals

Hard to abate industries in Africa are beginning to explore carbon capture as part of their decarbonisation options. This programme provides a grounded introduction to the technologies, geology and economics of carbon capture, utilisation and storage. Delegates gain the understanding needed to evaluate whether and how capture fits into a decarbonisation plan.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain the main carbon capture technologies and where each applies.
  • Describe utilisation pathways that turn captured carbon into useful products.
  • Assess the geological requirements for secure long term carbon storage.
  • Evaluate the transport and infrastructure needs of a capture project.
  • Analyse the costs, incentives and risks that shape project viability.
  • Position carbon capture within a broader decarbonisation strategy.
