Building Management System and Automation Maintenance

Commercial buildings, hospitals and data centres across Africa increasingly rely on building management systems to control heating, cooling, lighting and energy. When these systems drift or fail, comfort, energy cost and equipment life all suffer. This programme equips facilities and controls staff to maintain building management and automation systems, tune control loops and diagnose faults across sensors, controllers and networks.

What you will be able to do

  • Describe the architecture of a building management system and its field devices.
  • Maintain sensors, controllers and actuators that drive building services.
  • Verify and tune control loops for heating, cooling and ventilation.
  • Diagnose faults across controllers, networks and integrated equipment.
  • Use system data to identify energy waste and comfort problems.
  • Manage settings, schedules and access to keep the system secure and stable.
