Building Energy Retrofits and Efficiency Upgrade Management

The existing building stock across African cities consumes far more energy than it needs, and retrofitting offers quick, low risk savings. This programme focuses on identifying, prioritising and delivering efficiency upgrades in occupied commercial and public buildings. Delegates learn to run walk through audits, select measures with strong paybacks and manage upgrade projects with minimal disruption to occupants.

What you will be able to do

  • Conduct a walk through audit to identify energy waste in an occupied building.
  • Prioritise retrofit measures by payback, disruption and comfort impact.
  • Specify upgrades for lighting, heating, cooling, controls and building envelope.
  • Estimate savings and returns to support upgrade decisions.
  • Plan and phase works to limit disruption to occupants and operations.
  • Verify performance after installation to confirm expected savings.
