Warehouse and Logistics Safety Management

Warehouses and distribution centres combine forklift traffic, racking loads, loading bay activity and shift changeovers in a small footprint, and the resulting incidents are frequently predictable in hindsight. This course covers racking inspection, forklift and pedestrian segregation, loading bay procedures and the manual handling controls that reduce injury across picking, packing and dispatch operations.

What you will be able to do

  • Identify the highest frequency and highest severity hazards in warehouse and distribution operations.
  • Design pedestrian and forklift segregation that holds up during peak trading periods.
  • Conduct a racking inspection and escalate damage findings through a formal process.
  • Apply manual handling controls appropriate to picking, packing and dispatch tasks.
  • Establish loading bay procedures that prevent trailer creep and fall from height incidents.
  • Build a warehouse safety inspection checklist covering equipment, racking and housekeeping.
