Vulnerability Management and Patch Governance

Unpatched systems remain one of the most common entry points for attackers across African enterprises, where legacy infrastructure and limited maintenance windows complicate updates. This course builds a disciplined approach to finding, prioritising and remediating vulnerabilities. Participants learn to run scanning programmes and govern patch cycles that keep systems defensible without breaking operations.

What you will be able to do

  • Design a vulnerability management lifecycle from discovery through verification.
  • Configure scanning tools to cover servers, endpoints, network devices and applications.
  • Prioritise vulnerabilities using risk, exploitability and business impact.
  • Establish patch governance that balances security urgency with operational stability.
  • Track remediation performance using meaningful metrics and reporting.
  • Manage exceptions and compensating controls where patching is not immediately possible.
