Vendor Managed Inventory and Consignment Stock Management

Vendor managed inventory and consignment arrangements can free up working capital and cut stockouts, but only when the agreements and data flows are set up correctly. This course shows how to structure these models with suppliers so both parties share the benefit. Delegates learn to define ownership, replenishment triggers and reconciliation controls for African operations.

What you will be able to do

  • Distinguish vendor managed inventory from consignment and traditional stock.
  • Structure agreements that define stock ownership and payment triggers.
  • Set replenishment rules and minimum and maximum stock levels.
  • Establish data sharing and visibility between buyer and supplier.
  • Control reconciliation, shrinkage and obsolescence in shared stock.
  • Measure the working capital and service benefits achieved.
