Tower Crane Operations Planning and Lift Coordination for Building Sites

Tower cranes drive the tempo of any high rise project, and a poorly planned lift wastes hours or ends in a dropped load. This course teaches site teams how to plan crane positioning, sequence lifts and coordinate signals and exclusion zones on busy African city sites. It focuses on the planning and supervision decisions that keep the crane productive and the site safe rather than on operator licensing.

What you will be able to do

  • Plan crane position, radius and coverage against the building footprint.
  • Read load charts and confirm capacity for critical lifts.
  • Prepare lift plans and method statements for routine and complex lifts.
  • Coordinate riggers, signallers and banksmen during operations.
  • Manage exclusion zones, wind limits and overlapping crane conflicts.
  • Sequence deliveries and lifts to keep the crane productive.
