Tiling, Screeding and Floor Finishing Installation Supervision

Floors carry both loads and expectations, and failures such as lifting tiles, uneven falls and cracked screeds are expensive to correct once occupants move in. This course focuses on supervising screeds, tiling and floor finishes to a durable standard. It covers substrate checks, falls to drainage, adhesives, jointing and the inspection practices that suit high traffic African commercial and public buildings.

What you will be able to do

  • Verify substrate levels, moisture and falls before laying.
  • Control screed mixes, thickness and curing for stability.
  • Select adhesives, grouts and movement joints for each application.
  • Supervise setting out, cutting and jointing of tiles.
  • Inspect finished floors for lippage, hollowness and falls.
  • Manage protection and handover of completed floor areas.
