Third Party Logistics Selection and Outsourcing Management

Handing transport and warehousing to a third party logistics provider can free capital and sharpen focus, but a poor choice or weak contract locks African businesses into costly underperformance. This course guides delegates through deciding what to outsource, selecting the right provider and managing the relationship afterwards. The emphasis is on contracts and metrics that keep providers accountable.

What you will be able to do

  • Decide which logistics activities are suitable for outsourcing.
  • Build a requirements brief and selection criteria for providers.
  • Run a structured tender and evaluation for logistics services.
  • Negotiate contracts with clear service levels and cost mechanisms.
  • Design metrics and reviews that keep providers accountable.
  • Manage the transition and ongoing relationship with the provider.
