Solar Photovoltaic System Design and Commissioning

Solar generation is expanding rapidly across the continent, and poorly designed systems underperform or fail early. This programme guides delegates through sizing, layout, protection and commissioning for grid tied and hybrid photovoltaic installations. Delegates learn to specify equipment, plan wiring and verify that a system performs as promised.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain how photovoltaic modules and inverters convert sunlight to usable power.
  • Size arrays, inverters and cabling for a defined energy target.
  • Design string layouts that respect voltage, current and shading limits.
  • Specify protection, isolation and earthing for a photovoltaic system.
  • Plan storage and hybrid arrangements for reliable supply.
  • Commission a system and confirm performance against design figures.
