Secure Software Development and DevSecOps Practices

Development teams across African fintech, e-commerce and public service platforms ship code faster than security reviews can keep pace. This course shows engineers and delivery leads how to build security into every stage of the pipeline, from design through deployment. Participants practise secure coding, automated scanning and release controls using scenarios drawn from regional software projects.

What you will be able to do

  • Apply secure coding principles that address the most common web and mobile application weaknesses.
  • Integrate automated security scanning into continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
  • Conduct threat modelling sessions during design to surface risks before code is written.
  • Manage secrets, credentials and configuration safely across build and runtime environments.
  • Evaluate open source dependencies for known vulnerabilities and licensing exposure.
  • Establish release gates that balance delivery speed with defensible security assurance.
