Rope Access and Industrial Abseiling Safety

Rope access lets crews inspect and repair tall buildings, towers, silos and offshore structures across the region faster and cheaper than scaffolding, but it depends entirely on a discipline that leaves no room for improvisation. This course builds the safety management around rope access work, covering equipment, anchors, backup systems and rescue. It is written for supervisors and safety officers who oversee rope teams rather than as a substitute for hands on technician training.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain when rope access is appropriate and its critical safety principles.
  • Assess anchors, rigging and the two rope working and backup system.
  • Inspect harnesses, descenders, connectors and ropes for safe use.
  • Plan tasks, exclusion zones and dropped object control below the work.
  • Ensure suspension trauma and rescue capability are always in place.
  • Supervise rope access teams and verify competence and documentation.
