Rolling Forecasts and Driver Based Planning

Annual budgets go stale within months in a volatile South African economy of shifting interest rates, currency swings and demand shocks. This course helps finance teams move to rolling forecasts built on business drivers rather than last year plus a percentage. Delegates learn to identify the handful of drivers that move results, refresh forecasts efficiently, and give leadership a forward view they can actually act on.

What you will be able to do

  • Contrast rolling forecasts with the traditional annual budget cycle.
  • Identify the key value drivers that explain revenue and cost movements.
  • Build driver based forecast models that update quickly each period.
  • Set an appropriate forecast horizon, cadence and level of detail.
  • Analyse forecast accuracy and reduce persistent bias over time.
  • Communicate rolling forecast results to support faster decisions.
