Return to Work and Injury Management under COIDA

After a workplace injury, poor case management leaves employees off work longer than needed and employers exposed to rising costs and unresolved claims. This course covers practical injury management and return to work planning within the compensation framework, from first reporting to modified duties and recovery. It reflects the procedures South African employers follow when managing injured workers and their compensation claims.

What you will be able to do

  • Outline the injury reporting and claim process after a workplace injury.
  • Coordinate medical care, case management and communication with the injured worker.
  • Develop return to work and modified duty plans that support recovery.
  • Balance the needs of the employee, the treating practitioner and the workplace.
  • Track injury cases and manage the associated costs and records.
  • Identify workplace factors behind injuries and feed them back into prevention.
