Procurement Finance and Supply Chain Cost Management

Procurement decisions drive a large share of total cost in most South African organisations, yet finance and supply chain teams often plan budgets in isolation from one another. This course connects procurement practice with financial analysis, covering supplier cost modelling, total cost of ownership, import cost structures and budget alignment, so procurement decisions are made with full visibility of financial impact.

What you will be able to do

  • Calculate total cost of ownership for major supplier contracts.
  • Analyse import cost structures including duties, freight and exchange rate exposure.
  • Align procurement budgets with departmental and organisational financial plans.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals using structured financial comparison methods.
  • Identify working capital implications of procurement and payment terms.
  • Build cost models that support supplier negotiation strategies.
