Power System Analysis and Load Flow Studies

Planning and operating a stable power network depends on understanding how power flows and how the system responds to changes and faults. This course teaches the analysis methods behind load flow, fault and stability studies used by African utilities and large industry. Delegates learn to model networks and interpret results for sound planning decisions.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain the purpose of power system studies in planning and operation
  • Build network models with correct component data
  • Perform load flow studies to assess voltages and loading
  • Carry out fault studies to determine fault levels
  • Interpret results to guide equipment ratings and settings
  • Assess basic system stability and voltage performance
