Mental Health First Aid and Psychosocial Risk Management

Stress, trauma, financial pressure and burnout affect performance and safety just as physical hazards do, and they remain largely unaddressed on most sites. This course equips workplaces to assess psychosocial risk and to respond to a colleague in distress with practical mental health first aid. The approach is grounded in the pressures faced by African workforces, including exposure to violence, retrenchment fears and community hardship.

  • Assess psychosocial hazards such as workload, harassment and trauma exposure.
  • Apply a mental health first aid approach to support a colleague in crisis.
