Lean Construction and On Site Productivity Improvement

Construction sites lose a large share of every working day to waiting, rework and poor coordination that never appears on a drawing. Lean construction gives teams a practical way to see and remove that waste and make work flow reliably. This course introduces lean thinking, the Last Planner approach and simple site tools that lift productivity on African projects where margins are thin.

What you will be able to do

  • Identify the main sources of waste on a construction site.
  • Apply lean principles to improve reliable work flow.
  • Run collaborative planning using the Last Planner approach.
  • Measure percent plan complete and act on reasons for failure.
  • Use visual management and short interval control on site.
  • Lead continuous improvement with the site team.
