Global Sourcing and Low Cost Country Procurement

Sourcing from Asia and other regions can cut unit costs sharply, but African buyers frequently underestimate lead times, quality risk and currency exposure. This course prepares delegates to source internationally with eyes open, from supplier discovery through quality assurance and landed cost calculation. The emphasis is on protecting the organisation while capturing genuine savings.

What you will be able to do

  • Identify and qualify overseas suppliers using structured due diligence.
  • Calculate true landed cost including freight, duties and currency movement.
  • Assess quality and compliance risk before placing offshore orders.
  • Plan for extended lead times with buffer stock and safety margins.
  • Manage payment terms and currency exposure on international purchases.
  • Weigh global sourcing savings against local supplier development goals.
