Facade Access and Rope Access Coordination for High Rise Buildings

Tall buildings must be cleaned, inspected and maintained for decades, and the way their facades are accessed is decided during construction. This course covers planning and coordinating facade access systems, from building maintenance units to rope access and temporary suspended platforms. It reflects the growth of high rise development in African cities and the long term duty to maintain them safely.

What you will be able to do

  • Identify facade access options for different building forms.
  • Coordinate building maintenance unit provisions during construction.
  • Plan safe rope access and suspended platform operations.
  • Assess anchor points, loads and structural provisions.
  • Manage weather, exclusion zones and public protection at height.
  • Prepare access documentation for long term facade maintenance.
