Environmental Management and ISO 14001 Implementation

Environmental obligations increasingly sit alongside safety duties on the same manager's desk, from waste licensing to water use authorisations and client demands for a documented environmental management system. This course works through the ISO 14001 framework, aspect and impact registers, legal register maintenance and the internal audit cycle needed to keep an environmental management system alive rather than shelved.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain the structure and intent of the ISO 14001 environmental management system framework.
  • Compile an environmental aspects and impacts register for a site or operation.
  • Maintain a legal register covering waste, water, air and land use obligations.
  • Plan and conduct an internal audit against ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Set environmental objectives and targets that management can realistically track.
  • Prepare an environmental management system for external certification or client audit.
