Energy Isolation, Lockout and Permit to Work

Most serious electrical injuries happen because equipment was not properly isolated before work began. This programme builds a disciplined approach to isolating hazardous energy, applying locks and tags, and controlling work through permits. Delegates leave able to plan and verify isolations that protect every person on the job.

What you will be able to do

  • Identify all forms of hazardous energy present in electrical systems.
  • Plan a safe isolation sequence for a defined task.
  • Apply lockout and tagout devices correctly and verify a dead state.
  • Operate a permit to work system that controls high risk tasks.
  • Manage group isolations and shift handovers without gaps.
  • Restore equipment to service safely once work is complete.
