Construction Materials Testing and On Site Quality Assurance

Substandard materials and untested workmanship are behind many premature failures on African infrastructure, from crumbling concrete to failing subgrades. This course gives site teams a working command of routine materials testing and quality assurance. It covers sampling, concrete and aggregate tests, compaction control and the documentation that proves a project was built to specification.

What you will be able to do

  • Plan a sampling and testing regime for a construction project.
  • Supervise slump, cube and aggregate tests for concrete quality.
  • Interpret compaction and moisture density results for earthworks.
  • Verify material deliveries against specification and data sheets.
  • Manage nonconforming materials and corrective actions.
  • Maintain quality records that support handover and payment.
