Building Electrical and Mechanical Services Coordination

Modern buildings pack electrical, mechanical and plumbing services into tight ceiling voids and risers, and clashes between them are a leading cause of delay and rework. This course teaches project teams how to coordinate building services from design intent through installation. It covers services routing, clash detection, builders work openings and the commissioning sequence common on African commercial and institutional projects.

What you will be able to do

  • Interpret coordinated services drawings and ceiling void allocations.
  • Identify and resolve clashes between electrical, mechanical and wet services.
  • Plan builders work openings, sleeves and penetrations in advance.
  • Sequence services installation to protect access and maintenance.
  • Track testing and commissioning of building services systems.
  • Manage services interfaces with structure and finishes.
